Infineon and Eatron Collaborate to Promote Automotive Battery Management Solutions

Time:2023-11-09 Views:585
Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. (FSE code: IFX/OTCQX code: IFNNY) has signed a cooperation agreement with Eaton Technologies to integrate Eaton‘s advanced machine learning solutions and algorithms into Infineon‘s AURIX ™ In TC4x microcontroller (MCU). This cooperation aims to promote the development of Automotive Battery Management System (BMS). Thanks to the cutting-edge machine learning capabilities and integrated parallel processing units (PPUs) of the MCU series, Eaton can maximize the performance and accuracy of its AI driven battery management software.

Infineon AURIX ™ TC4x microcontroller
The two companies are working together to help electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers address three technical challenges that have hindered customers‘ large-scale adoption of electric vehicles to date: mileage anxiety, charging speed, and battery health.
Eatron CEO Umut Genc stated, "Infineon‘s AURIX TC4x Parallel Processing Unit (PPU) enables us to provide AI based battery diagnosis, including lithium plating detection and prognosis, health status (SoH) and aging trajectory, as well as edge remaining service life (RUL) prediction. Our leading ‘All State‘ (SoX) The solution provides the most accurate and powerful battery level assessment of available power, power, and battery health. This provides TC4x users with the opportunity to obtain leading battery management system (BMS) solutions through our software and machine learning models
PPU is an on chip single instruction, multi data (SIMD) vector digital signal processor (DSP). Compared with traditional CPUs, it can significantly shorten computing time. Infineon provides an automated toolchain in its ecosystem to ensure the most convenient and efficient processing of PPUs. For example, the automated toolchain enables customers to automatically convert existing models into vectorized code.
Thomas Boehm, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Automotive Microcontroller Product Line at Infineon Technology, stated: The new Infineon AURIX TC4x series aims to improve the efficiency of numerous xEV applications. Today, we are proud to announce that the AURIX TC4x overcomes previous computational performance limitations, allowing our customers to fully utilize the value of high-precision models and algorithms. Currently, a new round of technological advancements in the electric vehicle field is driving battery management systems (BMS) The vigorous development of the field. We are pleased to work with partners like Eatron to serve this market while providing excellent semiconductor hardware
