Xinke Technology launches a new 8-bit MCU series product, expanding its powerful MCU platform

Time:2023-11-23 Views:524
Silicon Labs, a global leader committed to building a more interconnected world with secure and intelligent wireless connectivity technology, today announced the launch of a new 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) series of products, which have been optimized for price and performance, further expanding the powerful MCU development platform of Silicon Technology.
These new 8-bit MCUs share the same development platform as the PG2x 32-bit MCU product series, namely the Simplicity Studio platform of Xinke Technology, which includes all necessary tools such as compilers, integrated development environments, and configuration tools.
In today‘s world, with the continuous expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, MCU plays a crucial role in embedded computing, "said Dhiraj Sogani, Senior Director of Wireless Product Marketing at Xinke Technology. The new BB5 series MCU expands our product portfolio, allowing us to provide the most comprehensive selection of MCU products for today‘s market
Cost optimized BB5 8-bit MCU can reduce the complexity of embedded devices
With the continuous expansion of embedded computing applications, developers need to be able to choose appropriate hardware for various tasks. Although 32-bit MCU is an ideal choice for more complex computationally intensive tasks such as machine learning inference or vocabulary recognition, there are many simpler tasks that do not require the additional power and cost brought by 32-bit MCU. However, the challenge for developers is that most 8-bit and 32-bit MCUs use different development tools, making it difficult for developers to develop both types of MCUs simultaneously. Therefore, although developers do not require stronger computing power, they usually bear additional development costs.
That‘s why Xinke Technology has designed its 8-bit and 32-bit MCU products to be developed using the Simplicity Studio platform. Xinke Technology‘s Wireless System on Chip (SoC) also shares this development platform, which greatly simplifies and accelerates the process of device manufacturers bringing various devices to the market. This eliminates the need for developers to learn two sets of tools and supports them in optimizing equipment costs by selecting the most suitable components for application needs.
Simplicity Studio is also a development platform for the wireless SoC product portfolio of Core Technology. It supports developers to develop it once and then deploy it to multiple product variants without considering whether some products are connected or not. For example, many consumer products such as electric toothbrushes now have both connected and non connected versions. The connected version is the ideal choice for consumers who want to track their brushing habits, while the non connected version is suitable for consumers who just want to brush their teeth. For developers, this means they can develop once for both connected and non connected products, and then deploy two or more times.
The BB5x series of Xinke Technology includes the best performing 8-bit MCU in the market
The new BB5x series includes the most powerful 8-bit MCU on the market, as the core frequency of the BB5 series at 50 MHz can provide 36% higher computing power than any other general-purpose 8-bit MCU. The BB5 series is an ideal choice for battery powered applications such as electric tools, handheld kitchen tools (such as immersion mixers), and even children‘s toys. It supports a variety of voltage options from 1.8V to 5.5V, allowing devices to last for many years using button batteries. The BB5 series comes in multiple packaging sizes, with BB50 MCUs measuring 2mm x 2mm, while BB51 and BB52 MCUs measuring 3mm x 3mm, providing additional universal input and output ports (GPIO) and enhanced analog functionality. In some applications, 8-bit BB52 MCU can even provide higher cost-effectiveness than 32-bit MCU competitors.
