4004C Description:
The 4004C is a low noise, 847KHz fixed frequency capacitive voltage multiplier. The 4004C requires a minimum input voltage of 2.7V (1 lithium battery) to provide a fixed output of 5V.
The 4004C features constant frequency operation at various load levels. Built-in soft start circuit prevents current overshoot during startup. Thermal shutdown and current limiting circuits allow the chip to avoid short circuits from VOUT to ground. The use of high switching frequencies minimizes the area of the chip, allowing the use of tiny ceramic capacitors. When turned off, the load is disconnected from the input and the static current is reduced to <1uA.
The 4004C is packaged in SOT23-6.
